About Us

Peninsula Sleep Laboratory specialises in:
  • diagnosis of sleep disorders such as snoring, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movements and insomnia
  • determining correct pressure for patients requiring CPAP and noninvasive ventilation (Bi-PAP)
  • reviewing the effectiveness and pressure for patients already on CPAP or BiPAP
  • checking the effectiveness of dental devices or surgery
  • providing advice, education and ongoing care to patients using CPAP, as well as rental and equipment sales
  • performing tests for tiredness such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) and Maintenance of Wakefullness Test (MWT)
  • CPAP acclimatization when necessary

 

Referrals are essential:

Written referrals from a General Practitioner (GP) are required for Peninsula Sleep Laboratory. Patients for CPAP and other sleep disorder tests must have a referral from a Sleep/Respiratory Physician.

Patients for diagnostic studies can be referred by a GP or registered dentist (as per HIC Rules). Referrals from GP are valid for 12 months from the first date of service. Referrals from specialists are valid for 3 months from the first date of service. Referrals over 12 months old cannot be accepted.

Sleep Study appointments:

Appointments are required for both sleep studies and to attend the CPAP clinic. If you have a referral and need to make an appointment or would like further information please contact our receptionist.

Health Funds:

Peninsula Sleep Laboratory has contracts with most private health funds and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Individual 'Statement of Fees' and informed financial consent are provided to all patients prior to the sleep study.
